on June 14, 2008.
The election of officers each year coincides with the new Membership Recruitment drive. This year the ATA will offer
a single prize drawing of $300 to one of the ATA recruiters rather than $2 to each recruiter for each person recruited
by them.
For the 2007-08 drive Mark Winnegrad was the top recruiter for the 13th time in 19 years with 18 new members, bringing
his grand total to 538 members recruited. Frederick Skvara of New Jersey came in second with six new members. Third
place for five members each was shared by Edward Dimmick of California, and Joseph L. Franke of Oregon, both of whom
are dealers.
Those who would like to recruit but don’t know how to do so or who don’t know who to approach and where will have new
doors open to them with ATA’s new ROLL A SIX. WIN A DVD! promotion. Members who volunteer to staff an ATA Society table
at a show in their area will be sent everything they need to promote the ATA. Visitors to their booth will sign in and
then have one chance to roll a six on a die handed to them. If they roll a six they can have their choice of one of the
11 topical DVDs that the ATA now has to offer. Should any of the visitors join the ATA either at the show, or subsequently,
submitting their application with the volunteer’s name as the recruiter on the application, the volunteer will get credit
for that enrollee.
For each person recruited, the volunteer recruiter’s name will be placed in a hopper from which a drawing will select one
name next Spring for the $300 prize. Other runner-up prizes will be awarded as well.
ATA Members can also request ATA applications to solicit new members at their stamp clubs or in other places where collectors
may gather. For more information on this fun promotion contact the ATA Central Office, P.O. Box 57, Arlington, Texas 76004-0057
